Account Terms

1. Who these Account Terms cover
These Account Terms govern a personal Clavis account: passkeys, sign-in, and the account itself. Clavis is operated by DeepDive, Inc. (Tokyo, Japan).
Creating an account is agreement to these Account Terms. When you create it, you also confirm that you have read the Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle personal data. If you do not agree to these Account Terms, do not create an account.
The Customer Terms cover an organisation and a paid feature.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate registration information, including the passkey display name, and keep your device and authenticator secure.
You must not attempt unauthorised access, automated abuse, or token interception, misrepresent who a connection is with, impersonate another user, or use the account unlawfully.
3. Suspension
If you break section 2, if there is abuse or a failed verification, or if security requires it, we may suspend your account, end its sessions, or disconnect it from connected applications, with or without notice. For a serious or repeated breach we may delete the account.
Where we reasonably can, we tell you the reason and how to ask us to review the decision.
4. Deleting your account
You may delete your account at any time from account settings. What deletion removes, and what remains, is described in the Privacy Notice and in Data rights.
If you are the only Owner of an organisation, you may need to give that role to someone else before the account can be deleted.
Deleting your personal account does not end an organisation's contract.
5. Changes to the service
We may change, suspend, or end features for security, legal compliance, maintenance, or improvement. Where we reasonably can, we announce important changes on this portal before they take effect.
6. Warranties and liability
We provide the account service as it is, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise a numeric uptime.
We do not limit our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or where the law does not allow a limit.
Where we are negligent but not grossly negligent, we are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages or for lost profits. This does not exclude our liability for the loss that ordinarily results, and it does not take away mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
7. Changes to these Account Terms
We may amend these Account Terms where the amendment is in the general interest of users, or where it is reasonable and is not contrary to the purpose of the contract, in light of the need for it, the reasonableness of the new terms, and other circumstances.
Before the amendment takes effect, we publish on this portal that we are amending these Account Terms, the new text, and the effective date.
If you do not accept an amendment, delete your account before that date.
8. Who may hold an account
An account is for a person old enough to agree to these terms on their own. If you register under a false age, we may suspend use or delete the account.
We may, for a period, stop opening new accounts for people connecting from a given country or region, for example where we cannot yet meet a new legal requirement there. Accounts already open continue under these Account Terms.
9. Governing law
These Account Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
The courts of Japan have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that may apply to you.
